Travel is personal. So is the way we plan it.
Founded by local tour operator Kinley Tshering in Thimphu, Make Memories Tours & Treks was born from a timeless conviction: a journey through the Kingdom of Bhutan should be remembered for how it made you feel — not simply the list of places you visited.
"Make Memories Tours & Treks was founded on a simple belief: A journey should be remembered for how it made you feel — not simply for the places you visited."
With five years of dedicated tour-management experience hosting visitors from around the globe, Kinley Tshering has developed a practical, respectful understanding of what makes an international journey successful and stress-free.
Every itinerary we craft is anchored in five principles: Planning, Communication, Flexibility, Attention to detail, and Understanding people. We listen closely to your rhythms and comfort before finalizing any details.
We don't believe in mass-market buses or rushed itineraries that treat sacred monasteries like checkmarks on a list. Instead, we preserve the unhurried grace that makes Bhutan one of the most remarkable sanctuaries in the world.
Kinley brings five years of dedicated experience in Himalayan tour management, with particular experience guiding and arranging journeys for European, American, and international visitors.
Kinley believes that a successful Bhutan journey should reflect the traveller's personal interests rather than simply follow a predetermined formula.
As a father of a child with additional needs, Kinley brings rare empathy, patience, and realistic planning to every family and guest he welcomes to his homeland. He understands that genuine hospitality means adapting to you — never forcing you to adapt to a rigid tour.
Because the most valuable part of travel is what stays with you long after the bags are unpacked.
You may forget the exact name of a mountain road or the date of an ancient fortress.
But you will always remember:
Those are the memories we want to help create with you.
The core standards that shape every decision, communication, and itinerary we curate.
We listen before we plan. Your journey is thoughtfully curated for you, not mass-produced.
We encourage genuine local encounters and living Buddhist heritage over staged tourist shows.
We welcome travellers with diverse physical and sensory requirements with honest, adapted care.
We understand mountain weather and individual energy change; we adjust seamlessly on the ground.
We honour Bhutan's carbon-negative ethos, support local communities, and respect sacred nature.
Whether you are travelling as a couple, with children, solo, or with mobility considerations, we would love to hear your vision for Bhutan.
